VIDEO 3 - The Petwood Hotel and Tealby Thorpe
Video3

Following the success of the first two teaching videos, here two more Lincolnshire locations present Ash with a watercolour challenge! First he visits the famous, Petwood Hotel, in Woodhall Spa to enjoy the spectacular grounds and to paint a view of the old timber-framed building across the ornamental pond. In contrast, the second picture is a watercolour of the little stream at Tealby Thorpe, captured as it rushes away through the trees. In both painting demonstrations techniques are explained step-by-step, to help you to master watercolour, the most exciting of painting mediums. This video comes complete with drawings to get you started, which makes it ideal for the beginner as well as the more advanced artist.

VIDEO 4 - Rothwell, Lincolnshire
Video4

On this teaching video, Ash completes three paintings, capturing the same scene at Rothwell, Lincolnshire, in three different seasons. Springtime is painted in pure watercolour, using delicate washes with a hint of daffodil yellow on the ground. Summer is caught in watercolour with a pastel overlay, expoiting the transparent delicacy of the watercolour while using the stronger opaque nature of pastels to give extra depth and interest to the painting. Winter is painted in pure pastel using a coloured paper to allow the pastel to be delicate and expressive. Those who have yet to experience the joys of either watercolour or pastel will find that the demonstrations help to give you the courage to do so, and the combination of both offers up so many possibilities! As usual, Ash paints in easy-to-follow stages giving lots of tips and the enclosed working drawing makes the video ideal for beginners as well as the more advanced artist.

VIDEO 5 - Rhododendrons at the Petwood and Cottages at Tealby Thorpe
Video5

On this, the fifth teaching video in the series, Ash works in soft pastel to paint two more Lincolnshire scenes - a rhododendron wood in the grounds of the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, and a stream and country cottages at Tealby Thorpe. Throughout the video, Ash sets out to simplify the art of pastel painting, taking you through each picture, step-by-step. Beginning with tips on sketching and composition, each painting then uses a variety of pastel techniques to produce exciting, colourful results. As usual, the video contains drawings of the two scenes to help get you started which makes it ideal for both the beginner and the more experienced artist.

VIDEO 6 - Great Limber and the River Witham
Video6

On this, the sixth video in the series, Ash visits two more locations in Lincolnshire to produce paintings in watercolour. The first demonstration is at Great Limber - a pretty village with a large pond surrounded by assorted trees with a small white house in the background. For the second painting, we move to the banks of the River Witham as it flows towards Lincoln, with the famous cathedral dominating the skyline. The paintings are completed in a step-by-step approach using a wide variety of watercoour techniques and also includes the option of a little pastel overlay in the finshed Lincoln painting. As usual the video contains lots of useful hints and painting tips and includes "ready to use drawings" of both scenes which makes it ideal for both the beginner and more experienced artist.
